These three texture photos show a difference in value and color. The photo of my black and white flowers show a range of contrast and a deep value. The photograph of the butterfly I really tried to use color to show emphasis and the texture of its’ miniscule hair and bright wings. The photograph of the yellow flowers, again I used colors to bring forth the textures and emphasis.

Top of the World

During a trip to lake Tahoe I snapped a photo on my way up to the slopes. I wanted to show the amazing depth of vision and the vivd blues. I also wanted to capture as much of the landscape as possible and bring forth the photographs texture.

3 of A 6 Photo Essay

"In The Grain"

"I See You."

"Raw Paws"

3 of A 6 Photo Essay

"HotRod"

"Broken Boundries"

"Sunrisen' on The Lakes"

These 6 photos individually tell a story and help support my theme "Home, Home, On The Range". Each photograph is taken from an angle that accentuates my point of view whether it be negative or positive. Many of my photos use emphasize to bring forth my feelings or beliefs, for example, "I See You." is a photo of my horse Scout. You can tell a lot about a person by their eyes like emotions and intentions and the same goes for horses. Can you feel the warmth?

I really tried to work with colors and shadows and highlights to bring forth feelings and ideas. I wanted to give an abstract feeling to the images and force people to look. I also used texture and value to give the photos depth and emotion.

Mother Mary and Son

While out and about wandering the large campus of Mercy, I stumbled onto this particular sculpture. Though it is small the emotions captured by the vivid colors and the outstretched arms of baby Jesus really compliment the photograph.
