Hit the Slopes

This photo was taken at Squaw Valley Ski Resort during the Mercy's Snowboard and Ski club trip to Tahoe and the snow. I took this photo with a higher ISO to capture the moving subject as if he became suddenly frozen, while his background blends nicely into the background. I cropped this photo to exaggerate the motion of the skier and then replaced the color with black and white, therefore creating a contrast and emphasis between the skier and the slope.

  1. The skier is really emphasized by the white background of the snow. Great job capturing the movement.

  3. I like how you made it black and white because it gives the skier more emphasis and color would have been more distracting.

  4. I really like how you were able to play with the saturation. I also like how you got to take a picture of the subject without a blurred look. Good Job!

  5. I like how you can tell the motion in the picture and how you chose to do it in black and white.

  6. The value and sense of motion in this photo are both really great! I like the emphasis put on the skier because of the white background. Great work! [:

  7. I like how you put this picture in black and white. It has great contrast between the skier and the snow. I think the best part is the watermark :P
